How do you make sure you’re consistently marketing your business?
How do you avoid the feast/famine cycle?
We’re talking all about your minimum required effort that needs to happen regularly! That can be weekly, monthly, or even a mix. You don’t need to do everything, but you do need to be consistent.
Links:
00:00:00 [Alison]
Because regardless of your outlet, regardless of what you’re doing, consistency is key.
00:00:06 [Alison]
Hey, I’m Allison, family photographer, military spouse, and business mentor for photographers.
00:00:11 [Melissa]
And I’m Melissa, also a military spouse, lifestyle newborn photographer, and SEO expert for photographers.
00:00:17 [Melissa]
Between the two of us, we have a combined twenty seven years in photography and have line business relocations.
00:00:22 [Alison]
We’ve coached each other through all these challenges privately on Marco Polo, and now we’re bringing our polos public.
00:00:28 [Alison]
On this podcast, we’ll give you actionable steps to help you keep it moving.
00:00:33 [Melissa]
Guys, welcome back.
00:00:34 [Melissa]
This week, we are tackling what we like to call marketing Mondays.
00:00:38 [Melissa]
Woo hoo.
00:00:39 [Melissa]
Yeah.
00:00:39 [Melissa]
I just like how that sounds, marketing Monday.
00:00:41 [Melissa]
I feel like it’s a thing.
00:00:42 [Melissa]
Yep.
00:00:42 [Melissa]
It’s probably a hashtag on Instagram, I bet.
00:00:44 [Melissa]
Oh, I’m sure it is.
00:00:46 [Melissa]
But, basically, the idea is, you know, you wanna set up at least one day a week that you’re gonna focus on marketing.
00:00:51 [Melissa]
And, like, it’s just you’re systematizing those regular marketing tasks and, you know, going, okay.
00:00:56 [Melissa]
This is the day.
00:00:57 [Melissa]
This is the checklist of things I need to do.
00:00:59 [Melissa]
So, like, just thinking about that.
00:01:00 [Melissa]
Like, what do you need to be doing each week?
00:01:02 [Melissa]
You know, what works with your schedule and really executing, like, the minimum required effort every week to keep your business running?
00:01:09 [Melissa]
Like, what do I need to
00:01:10 [Alison]
be doing?
00:01:11 [Alison]
100%.
00:01:11 [Alison]
We’re gonna be talking about a ton of different things, ton of different social media and outlets and means of marketing.
00:01:17 [Alison]
You don’t need to do them all.
00:01:18 [Melissa]
I don’t
00:01:19 [Alison]
do all of these.
00:01:20 [Alison]
Right?
00:01:21 [Alison]
But you need to decide what one, what do you like?
00:01:24 [Alison]
Where are your people at?
00:01:25 [Alison]
Because if you don’t like it, you’re not gonna keep it up.
00:01:27 [Alison]
If your people are there, you’re not gonna get results.
00:01:29 [Alison]
So pick your minimum required effort wherever it is.
00:01:33 [Alison]
And this is just all about time blocking to make sure that minimum required effort is happening regularly and consistently because regardless of your outlet, regardless of what you’re doing, consistency is key Everyone.
00:01:46 [Melissa]
Yeah.
00:01:46 [Melissa]
You know, there’s a lot that I complain about where sometimes I feel like I get caught working in the business instead of on the business.
00:01:53 [Melissa]
And if you implement, like, a day of the week, you’re gonna focus on marketing, then you never have to worry that you’re not focusing on the business and growing the business.
00:02:01 [Melissa]
Because, you know, you think about in the fall, photographers get really busy with family sessions and then nobody markets.
00:02:07 [Melissa]
And then everybody freaks out because January, February, March is, like, slow season.
00:02:11 [Melissa]
And because they weren’t marketing in the fall, like, nothing’s on the books for the spring.
00:02:14 [Alison]
Fix your famine.
00:02:15 [Alison]
Fix your famine.
00:02:16 [Alison]
And it’s hard.
00:02:16 [Alison]
Cycle we wanna be in.
00:02:18 [Alison]
No.
00:02:18 [Alison]
No.
00:02:18 [Melissa]
And so just trying to think about, like, okay, what do I need to be doing?
00:02:22 [Melissa]
And also keep in mind, even though we’re gonna list out a bunch of different things, you can copy and paste.
00:02:26 [Melissa]
You put the same post on Facebook as you put on LinkedIn, as you put on your Google business profile.
00:02:31 [Alison]
00:02:32 [Alison]
And this is very similar to things we’ve already talked about.
00:02:34 [Alison]
So if you wanna go back episode 27, we talk about taking one blog post and turning it into a week of marketing from one blog post.
00:02:41 [Alison]
And then episode 46, we talk about time blocking your calendar kind of on a bigger annual way, but time blocking is gonna be your friend here.
00:02:48 [Alison]
You know, regardless if if you do it all in one day or use some of the tools we give you on the end, like, we just wanna make sure you’re doing it and giving you all the resources that we’ve been using and tried and have worked for us to just get it done.
00:02:59 [Alison]
Yeah.
00:02:59 [Alison]
And, I
00:03:00 [Melissa]
mean, even I would say too with the marketing stuff of, like, batching.
00:03:03 [Melissa]
We can talk a little bit about batching and things and, like, getting things done that way.
00:03:07 [Melissa]
Yeah.
00:03:07 [Melissa]
But
00:03:07 [Alison]
I I do things every chance for for me.
00:03:09 [Melissa]
Yeah.
00:03:10 [Melissa]
And especially for those of you that have, like, little kids at home, maybe you work a full time job, like, being able to set a dedicated time down and say, okay.
00:03:18 [Melissa]
This is the day that I’m gonna work on marketing.
00:03:20 [Melissa]
And then like Allison said, go back and listen to episode 27.
00:03:23 [Melissa]
You know, the highlights right now are write a blog post and then use that blog post for all of your marketing efforts for the week.
00:03:31 [Melissa]
100%.
00:03:32 [Melissa]
Just repurpose it, copy and paste, grab different sections, and that’s just gonna make everything so much easier.
00:03:37 [Melissa]
And even if you’re able to, like, time block that and, like, just batch everything, you could end up doing all of your marketing for an entire month in one day if you’re, like, really feeling nasty.
00:03:45 [Alison]
And I think in that episode, I also shared how I use Trello to keep my evergreen content in one place as like, like a caption or social media library for stuff to reshare, reshare, reshare over and over and over again.
00:03:58 [Alison]
Okay.
00:03:58 [Alison]
So Melissa, what do you do?
00:04:00 [Alison]
How do you execute your marketing consistently?
00:04:03 [Melissa]
So that’s interesting.
00:04:03 [Melissa]
Like, I would say right now, when it comes to the SEO side of the business, I have landed finally on, like, what Instagram posts we’re doing.
00:04:12 [Melissa]
Mhmm.
00:04:12 [Melissa]
Now I will, like, kind of my marketing days are actually recording days.
00:04:16 [Melissa]
And so those are days that I will pull out my camera, pull out my phone and all my little accoutrements, and I will Do you care?
00:04:23 [Melissa]
Yeah.
00:04:23 [Melissa]
Do yeah.
00:04:24 [Melissa]
That’s definitely hair and makeup get done.
00:04:25 [Melissa]
So if I curl my hair, I’m gonna be on camera because I’m not gonna waste it.
00:04:29 [Melissa]
But I will then go ahead and record out, you know, 10 blog post topic tips, 10 SEO tips.
00:04:35 [Melissa]
I might even jump in and say, okay.
00:04:37 [Melissa]
Hey.
00:04:37 [Melissa]
I want to rerecord some modules for something.
00:04:39 [Melissa]
And so that’s how I batch all that out.
00:04:41 [Melissa]
And to me, it makes it a lot easier for me on the side if I can batch those things.
00:04:45 [Melissa]
And I’m not gonna lie, guys.
00:04:46 [Melissa]
Like, I’m recording all of these SEO tips and all of these blog post topics, and my goal is to get to somewhere around, like, at least 52.
00:04:54 [Melissa]
And then that way, we can just re air them.
00:04:56 [Melissa]
They become that evergreen content that Allison’s talking about.
00:04:59 [Melissa]
Because, sure, you may have re here one, but I know I mean, as much as y’all love me, I know you’re not listening every single week to the blog post topics, and that’s okay.
00:05:08 [Melissa]
So if I reuse it next year, you may have missed it this year.
00:05:11 [Melissa]
Perfect.
00:05:12 [Melissa]
You know?
00:05:12 [Melissa]
And so that’s that’s to me, like, my my marketing on the photography side is actually funny.
00:05:17 [Melissa]
It’s, whenever I’m doing blogging club stuff, when I’m creating outlines for blogging club, I’m either also creating a post to go with it because, typically, I’m blogging right there next to you guys, or I’m refreshing an old post that I’ve already written.
00:05:29 [Melissa]
So that that way I can update it and show you, like, hey.
00:05:32 [Melissa]
This is a post I’ve had forever.
00:05:33 [Melissa]
It does really well.
00:05:34 [Melissa]
You should write it too.
00:05:35 [Melissa]
And now I’ve given it a face lift kinda thing.
00:05:37 [Melissa]
So those are those are kinda where my two marketing efforts are.
00:05:40 [Melissa]
It’s the blogging side, and then it’s the SEO side when it comes to, like, Instagram and things like that.
00:05:45 [Melissa]
And yeah.
00:05:46 [Melissa]
And this Pinterest is one that I kind of come in and do I would say when it comes to marketing Mondays, there’s some things you do every week, and then there are some things maybe you do once a month.
00:05:54 [Melissa]
Yep.
00:05:55 [Melissa]
So, obviously, for me, the recording is probably once a month.
00:05:58 [Melissa]
Pinterest pinning is like once a month.
00:06:00 [Melissa]
Like, I’ll just sit down and batch schedule those suckers out and get that done.
00:06:06 [Melissa]
Logging can be a little bit more common than that.
00:06:09 [Melissa]
And then email marketing is something I do every week.
00:06:12 [Alison]
Yeah.
00:06:12 [Alison]
You know?
00:06:12 [Alison]
So 100%.
00:06:13 [Melissa]
But you got so there’s a lot of stuff.
00:06:15 [Melissa]
And sometimes it can be easier to put it on one day, but maybe for you, it’s but on other days, the whole point though is to think about it and make sure you’re doing it.
00:06:21 [Alison]
Yes.
00:06:22 [Alison]
Doing it and getting that required minimum effort.
00:06:24 [Alison]
So for me, there’s a few my outlets, first of all, my outlets are email marketing, blogging, and the website, and then Instagram.
00:06:30 [Alison]
And then Google My Business.
00:06:31 [Alison]
I do update that monthly, but I update that with something that I’ve already put out into the ether.
00:06:37 [Alison]
So I’m not recreating new content.
00:06:39 [Alison]
Right.
00:06:39 [Melissa]
Whether it’s Oh, and we forgot podcasting.
00:06:41 [Alison]
Oh, yeah.
00:06:42 [Alison]
Podcasting from here.
00:06:43 [Alison]
Tada.
00:06:44 [Melissa]
We do this almost this week.
00:06:45 [Melissa]
This is marketing.
00:06:46 [Alison]
Yeah.
00:06:47 [Alison]
We work our way into that.
00:06:48 [Alison]
I mean, speaking of, so fast, one of my, for my coaching side, I do regular email every week.
00:06:55 [Alison]
Every week on the dot.
00:06:56 [Alison]
That is a Monday, Tuesday event when the podcast drops, I drop a new email as well.
00:07:01 [Alison]
Hey there, photographers struggling with what
00:07:03 [Melissa]
to blog about, tired of staring at that blinky cursor, waiting for inspiration to strike.
00:07:08 [Melissa]
Yeah.
00:07:08 [Melissa]
We’ve all been there.
00:07:09 [Melissa]
That is why I created the blogging club.
00:07:11 [Melissa]
Imagine this.
00:07:12 [Melissa]
Every month, you know exactly what to blog.
00:07:15 [Melissa]

00:07:32 [Melissa]

00:07:37 [Melissa]
Head to the bloggingclub.com and use code t b c trial to get 50% off your first month and join us today.
00:07:45 [Alison]
And then for my photography side, I’m shooting for twice a month.
00:07:49 [Alison]
People that are coming out here, like, you know, being a desk photographer is just a different ballgame, not a destination photographer.
00:07:56 [Alison]
And so email marketing, I want to be in people’s inbox.
00:07:58 [Alison]
I want them to remember me, but it’s not the foundation of my business.
00:08:02 [Alison]
People are already coming out here looking for me.
00:08:04 [Alison]
And and for the same reason, blogging was huge when I first got.
00:08:07 [Alison]
It was huge for the first six months before I got out here.
00:08:10 [Alison]
It was huge for the first nine months I was here.
00:08:12 [Alison]
I’m really in more of a maintenance mode, and so I’m not even blogging once a month.
00:08:15 [Alison]
I’m blogging as topics arise because I almost feel like I’m out.
00:08:19 [Alison]
Like, I’m, like, updating new new photos with fresher imagery than I am providing new content because it’s kind of one of those I’ve I’ve arrived moments where it’s working for me.
00:08:28 [Alison]
Yeah.
00:08:28 [Alison]
I’m up there.
00:08:28 [Alison]
I’m in the rankings.
00:08:29 [Alison]
I’m just maintaining.
00:08:30 [Alison]
So that’s that’s not even monthly anymore blogging.
00:08:33 [Alison]
But then Instagram, Instagram posts, I’m trying to do about two a week and then one to two reels a week.
00:08:40 [Alison]
And this ebbs and flows with my energy level.
00:08:44 [Melissa]
Yeah.
00:08:44 [Melissa]
Because I was gonna say, I thought it was, not long ago, you were like, Instagram is not doing as much for me as I wanted as the effort you were putting in.
00:08:51 [Alison]
Right.
00:08:51 [Alison]
And it’s not.
00:08:52 [Alison]
And that’s why I’ve I’ve pulled back.
00:08:54 [Alison]
And when I say I’m posting twice a week, I’m posting twice a week, but I’m only in it once a month.
00:08:58 [Alison]
I’m only put like, I’m scheduled I’m trying to schedule it two to four weeks at a time.
00:09:02 [Alison]
So I have a reoccurring this is kinda getting into how I execute this, but I just schedule two to four weeks at one time, and I don’t touch it again for a month.
00:09:10 [Alison]
And those are just static posts, carousels, and things like that.
00:09:13 [Alison]
The reels are a different ballgame.
00:09:14 [Alison]
I do it as I think about it, as I need it, as, you know, being doing discovery calls, clients have questions or things that are repeated.
00:09:21 [Alison]
Like, oh, I should I should do this or trending audio Yeah.
00:09:25 [Alison]
Thumbs up.
00:09:25 [Alison]
It’s something like, oh, I love to you do that.
00:09:27 [Alison]
That’s a little more in the weeds.
00:09:29 [Alison]
And then I right now, I’m doing a little bit more combined effort collaboration effort between my two Instagram accounts.
00:09:35 [Alison]
So I have my photography account, but then the account for this podcast.
00:09:40 [Alison]
And where where it makes sense, I will be just double dipping because Instagram doesn’t last, but for twenty four hours, maybe three days.
00:09:47 [Alison]
So Yeah.
00:09:48 [Alison]
More effort into blogging.
00:09:49 [Melissa]
Yeah.
00:09:49 [Melissa]
And that’s one of those things that, like, I have I real I haven’t touched my Instagram in forever, and I actually need to get some, like, fresh stuff out there because I’ve been focusing on the other business.
00:09:58 [Melissa]
So, guys, we I mean, we get that.
00:10:00 [Melissa]
Like, when you’ve got little kids or you’ve got other jobs and you’ve got stuff going on, like, you can’t keep every plate spinning.
00:10:06 [Melissa]
So you really have to choose.
00:10:07 [Melissa]
Yeah.
00:10:08 [Melissa]
And marketing Monday lets you pay.
00:10:09 [Melissa]
This is the day.
00:10:10 [Melissa]
This is the time I have.
00:10:12 [Melissa]
This is what I’m gonna focus on.
00:10:13 [Melissa]
Like Allison said, you don’t have to be everywhere.
00:10:15 [Melissa]
Pick the one where you feel like your tribe is the most or where you get the most results.
00:10:19 [Melissa]
Like, for Allison, I’ve been blogging, so I’m still continuing to blog because I’m still newer to this area.
00:10:24 [Melissa]
You know, that’s helping me with bringing in clients and stuff like that.
00:10:27 [Melissa]
Honestly, Instagram is one of those.
00:10:29 [Melissa]
I think people go out there just to make sure, like, I have an account.
00:10:32 [Melissa]
Damn.
00:10:32 [Melissa]
So I probably don’t look alive at this point.
00:10:35 [Melissa]
So which is why I’m like, I just need to throw some new photos up there.
00:10:38 [Melissa]
Yeah.
00:10:38 [Melissa]
But, again, that’d be something I would batch.
00:10:40 [Melissa]
Like, I okay.
00:10:41 [Melissa]
Hey.
00:10:41 [Melissa]
You know what?
00:10:41 [Melissa]
We’re gonna go ahead and pull 10 or 15 photos.
00:10:44 [Melissa]
I’m gonna batch out one a week and schedule it out for a quarter at least because I just I don’t spend I get lost on Instagram.
00:10:50 [Melissa]
I get on there, and then half an hour later, I can’t remember why I was there, and I’ve already closed out, and I never did what I wanted to do.
00:10:56 [Melissa]
Yeah.
00:10:56 [Melissa]
I yeah.
00:10:57 [Alison]
And I think it’s fun.
00:10:58 [Alison]
I can get lost in there too.
00:10:59 [Alison]
Usually, I set timers for myself, like Yeah.
00:11:01 [Alison]
Five minute timer to do this, five minute timer to do that, to get in and out.
00:11:04 [Alison]
But those are my I keep it simple, keep it simple.
00:11:07 [Alison]
And so, let’s talk about how we execute some of that.
00:11:11 [Alison]
So Melissa, you actually stay and do it all.
00:11:13 [Melissa]
Yes.
00:11:13 [Melissa]
Because a lot of it’s the recording stuff right now.
00:11:16 [Melissa]
So, yeah, I’ll set a day to do that because I’m doing my hair and my makeup and stuff.
00:11:20 [Melissa]
Then it’s like, okay, this is the day we’re doing this, you know?
00:11:23 [Alison]
And there you go.
00:11:24 [Alison]
So for me, I don’t do that because I feel like it’s too much.
00:11:27 [Alison]
I feel like I get overwhelmed, and I don’t have the time to do it because I really only have by the time I work out, shower, get ready, and then have to go back to pick up my kids for carpool, it’s really only four and a half hours a day.
00:11:37 [Alison]
And then between discovery calls and creating client artwork and emails and all that stuff, like, maybe, like, some days as little as thirty minutes, some days as much as a couple hours to to edit.
00:11:49 [Alison]
So the way I batch my marketing is actually primarily through Google Tasks.
00:11:54 [Melissa]
Oh, yeah.
00:11:55 [Melissa]
Yeah.
00:11:56 [Melissa]
Yeah.
00:11:56 [Melissa]
I think I introduced you to tasks, didn’t I?
00:11:58 [Melissa]
You did.
00:11:58 [Melissa]
And I did it was just so we would pay our sales tax on time.
00:12:01 [Melissa]
Yeah.
00:12:02 [Melissa]
That’s the original that’s yeah.
00:12:04 [Alison]
The monthly stuff that I forget about.
00:12:05 [Alison]
And then I was like, hey, this keeps coming up.
00:12:08 [Alison]
This is a really good idea.
00:12:09 [Alison]
And so I do so I’ve got multiple tasks.
00:12:11 [Alison]
So on Mondays, I need to make sure that that coaching email goes out because it’s time podcast, the podcast being dropped.
00:12:17 [Alison]
It’s also timely because I wanna make sure I can resend it unopened within the same week, twenty four hours after that first one goes out.
00:12:24 [Alison]
So that one actually has to happen pretty quickly in the in the week.
00:12:28 [Alison]
There’s that one.
00:12:29 [Alison]
Then I have a reoccurring task for those bimonthly emails for my photography wait list, and then I have a reoccurring task list on Tuesdays for the, Instagram posts.
00:12:40 [Alison]
And I don’t necessarily like, the Instagram posts and the other things are so much less timely that it it matter what time of the week it happens, but the fact that I have a reoccurring task reminds me like, oh, hey, if you if today you run out of time today, it’s fine.
00:12:55 [Alison]
You can do it tomorrow, but it sticks there.
00:12:58 [Alison]
And it says, hey, you haven’t done this.
00:12:59 [Alison]
You haven’t done this.
00:13:00 [Alison]
You still need to do this.
00:13:01 [Alison]
And so until I can go in and and have an thirty minutes to, like, sit out and, like, batch out, like, grab new images, export them for the new grid on Instagram, go over to Trello, grab the captions that sit with them, go in and schedule it out.
00:13:16 [Alison]
And I’m actually I’m testing out our meta’s native scheduler at the moment because I’m kinda between
00:13:22 [Melissa]
Yeah.
00:13:23 [Melissa]
That’s what we use is we use the meta native scheduler for
00:13:26 [Alison]
stuff.
00:13:26 [Alison]
It’s free.
00:13:27 [Alison]
Yeah.
00:13:28 [Alison]
That’s right.
00:13:28 [Alison]
I would like and it’ll post to both Facebook and Instagram.
00:13:32 [Alison]
Right?
00:13:32 [Alison]
Yeah.
00:13:32 [Alison]
Okay.
00:13:33 [Alison]
Yeah.
00:13:33 [Melissa]
I think so.
00:13:33 [Alison]
Planally, I was paying for Planally to do that in the beginning, and then, anyway, another another story for another time.
00:13:40 [Alison]
And then Google My Business, another reoccurring task for once a month.
00:13:43 [Alison]
So I I really do.
00:13:45 [Alison]
But you know what else I do?
00:13:46 [Alison]
I use my phone two days a week.
00:13:49 [Alison]
I have an alarm for every I think it’s Monday, Wednesday to on Instagram and just sit on Instagram for fifteen minutes to
00:13:56 [Melissa]
Oh, yeah.
00:13:57 [Melissa]
To engage.
00:13:57 [Melissa]
Gotcha.
00:13:58 [Alison]
Yeah.
00:13:58 [Alison]
To sit there and engage because it’s about the time my most my my followers are most active.
00:14:02 [Alison]
So that’s why I picked the time.
00:14:04 [Alison]
It’s an alarm, like, do this, do this.
00:14:05 [Alison]
And if even if I need to snooze it for ten minutes, it’s gonna keep snoozing until I either decide, do I do what I’m gonna do or actually do it.
00:14:11 [Alison]
And I just spend a little time for, I think, five to six minutes at a time.
00:14:15 [Alison]
And, I sit in and just put comments, reply to people in my stories, engage in other people’s stories, and try to give the love we wanna receive.
00:14:23 [Alison]
Right?
00:14:23 [Alison]
Because that’s really important.
00:14:25 [Alison]
So that’s that’s how I run that.
00:14:27 [Alison]
But it’s different every day.
00:14:28 [Alison]
It’s not nearly as batched as it could be, but I just want to
00:14:32 [Melissa]
so what we’re proving to you is just because we call it marketing Monday doesn’t mean it only happens on Monday or ever actually happens on Mondays.
00:14:38 [Melissa]
Yeah.
00:14:38 [Melissa]
This depends on your schedule, but keeps it in good.
00:14:41 [Alison]
So some of the things we want y’all to think about as far as what your minimum requirement might include, I think email marketing is really important.
00:14:49 [Alison]
Yeah.
00:14:49 [Alison]
Logging, if you haven’t heard us say it before blogging is the most important.
00:14:54 [Alison]
A 100% blogging is the most important because episode 27, you can get so much out of it.
00:14:59 [Alison]
But then some other things, the emails can come out of blogs, your Google My Business update can come out of that.
00:15:03 [Alison]
Trist, blog sharing, link sharing, LinkedIn, and then Instagram posts, TikTok if you’re cool with the Chinese on that.
00:15:13 [Alison]
What else?
00:15:13 [Alison]
What else could people oh,
00:15:15 [Melissa]
Facebook.
00:15:15 [Melissa]
Yeah.
00:15:15 [Melissa]
Facebook.
00:15:16 [Melissa]
And I realized Facebook, you know, a lot of people are like, oh, Facebook’s dying.
00:15:19 [Melissa]
That kind of thing.
00:15:20 [Alison]
People are living and dying by it though.
00:15:23 [Melissa]
Even if you’re just posting it to your business profile and then sharing it to your personal profile, You know, you can still do be doing that kind of thing.
00:15:30 [Alison]
That’s my minimum there.
00:15:31 [Alison]
I kind of several years ago, I turned off messaging on Facebook.
00:15:34 [Alison]
I don’t get queries through Facebook because it’s not worth my time.
00:15:36 [Alison]
My you know, your rate of return.
00:15:38 [Alison]
Let’s your return on effort.
00:15:40 [Alison]
Like, it’s just it’s so low.
00:15:41 [Alison]
So I whatever I post to Instagram can be posted to Facebook.
00:15:45 [Alison]
I think my headline says who I am, what I do.
00:15:48 [Alison]
If you wanna reach out, get the website because that’s not Right.
00:15:50 [Melissa]
Yeah.
00:15:51 [Melissa]
And I think that’s what a lot of people do, but I feel like when it comes to Facebook, it’s that whole sharing it from your business page to your personal page so that, your friends and family are gonna see it.
00:15:59 [Melissa]
Or if you’re friends with clients and stuff that they see it.
00:16:02 [Melissa]
Like that used to be the big thing.
00:16:03 [Alison]
It’s so funny that you say that because I used to have a Google task that said reshare your Facebook posts to personal page, because I would would just schedule out the Instagram post.
00:16:14 [Alison]
It would go out to Facebook and then I forget about it and I never share
00:16:18 [Melissa]
it and
00:16:18 [Alison]
then I forget.
00:16:19 [Alison]
But planally quit sharing.
00:16:20 [Alison]
So I guess I’m gonna need to go restart that.
00:16:23 [Alison]
Task.
00:16:24 [Melissa]
I mean, I’m not saying that you’re gonna get a ton of clients from it, but it’s it’s that overall, all of these marketing efforts are to help keep you top of mind with people, you know, and just keep your your your name in their head.
00:16:35 [Melissa]
And so when it comes time for a referral or things like that, you know, obviously, sometimes our family isn’t the greatest with referrals, but you never know.
00:16:41 [Melissa]
Right.
00:16:42 [Alison]
But sometimes that they, oh, somebody needs them, and then they’ll share reshare a post because somebody in their circle is looking for a photographer and you never know.
00:16:49 [Alison]
Yeah.
00:16:50 [Alison]
One of the things you also want to think about, we just talked to Kirsten about UVPs and repeating yourself, repeat that UVP.
00:16:57 [Alison]
She said every, every day in some form or fashion, you should be repeating one of your three UVPs.
00:17:02 [Alison]
So we must share that.
00:17:04 [Melissa]
And here’s the thing.
00:17:05 [Melissa]
If you let’s say you sit down and you’re like, I need to do something for marketing, but I don’t know what to do today.
00:17:09 [Melissa]
Go buy some of your old stuff like Allison was talking about.
00:17:11 [Melissa]
Pull some evergreen content.
00:17:12 [Melissa]
I mean, I was just sitting here thinking I need to post to Instagram.
00:17:15 [Melissa]
Like, I don’t wanna write captions.
00:17:17 [Melissa]
So I’m just gonna go back to some of my popular blog posts that are about, like, prepping for newborn sessions and stuff.
00:17:22 [Melissa]
And probably tell my social media girl, okay.
00:17:24 [Melissa]
Here.
00:17:24 [Melissa]
Go grab the photos from here.
00:17:26 [Melissa]
Go copy the text from my blog post, and let’s do those as captions and stuff on Instagram and get some fresh stuff rolling there.
00:17:33 [Melissa]
And we could schedule out a good amount pretty easily with with just that, and I don’t have to do anything.
00:17:38 [Alison]
Yeah.
00:17:38 [Alison]
That’s perfect.
00:17:39 [Alison]
Well done.
00:17:40 [Alison]
